Targów IFA jednak nie będzie

Wbrew zapowiedziom organizatorów, że berlińskie targi IFA powrócą we wrześniu 2021 w tradycyjnej postaci, tj. z udziałem wystawców i publiczności, dzisiaj po południu gruchnęła wiadomość, że jednak nici z tego. Organizatorzy są bardzo rozczarowani, ale tłumaczą niepowodzenie następującymi czynnikami:

• zbyt wiele niewiadomych (too many uncertainties);
• nie da się przewidzieć, jak pandemia wpłynie na [sytuację na] świecie (impossible to predict how the pandemic will affect the world);
• zbyt wiele „znanych niewiadomych” począwszy od tempa realizacji programu szczepień aż do pojawienia się nowych odmian wirusa (so many ‘known unknowns’ from the speed of vaccination programs to the emergence of new variants of the virus);
• niemożność przygotowania solidnych i bezpiecznych planów.

Ciekawi mnie jedno: co z targami CES 2022? Organizator zarzeka się, że się odbędą, ale organizująca targi IFA Messe Berlin GmbH też tak twierdziła. Aż do dziś.

Dear Tomasz,We are afraid we are not bringing good news today: We are all extremely disappointed, but this summer will be like no other, because IFA cannot take place in 2021.

We have tried to make the impossible possible, but there are just too many uncertainties right now. It has become impossible to predict how the pandemic will affect the world come this September. There simply are so many ‘known unknowns’ – from the speed of vaccination programs to the emergence of new variants of the virus – that nobody can plan ahead reliably and securely.

Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your trust, in IFA and our team.

And yet, we can look forward to 2022, when – after an extremely rare break – IFA Berlin is set to return, in full strength, with confidence and full IFA power. Our preparations for IFA 2022 are starting today.

We all know: there’s nothing that can replace the experience of face-to-face meetings, of networking, of seeing and touching innovation, of comparing products and services instantly and immediately.

Together, we will prepare the best IFA yet, in 2022. In the meantime, we will keep you posted about the latest news around IFA and the tech industry.
